About
This is going to spoil you compared to all the other candy barks out there. The secret to Cookie Dough Bark is, of course, that tender, melt-in-your-mouth, chocolate-filled cookie dough, made safe to eat with pre-baked flour and no eggs. While that's the heart of Cookie Dough Bark, the bark part comes from a layer of indulgent chocolate on one side and a drizzle of even more chocolate on the other. It's cookies and candy coming together to make you smile; that's the charm and sweet tooth satisfaction of Cookie Dough Bark!
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 3 cups milk chocolate chips
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line a 10x15-inch pan with wax paper.
Step 3 -Spread the flour out on a baking tray.
Step 4 -Bake the flour for 5 minutes; this helps kill bacteria in the flour.
Step 5 -In the bowl of a large stand mixer, cream the butter and the brown sugar until it is light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Step 6 -Beat the vanilla into the butter mixture.
Step 7 -Slowly add the flour into the butter mixture, scraping down the sides as necessary.
Step 8 -With the mixer still running, slowly add the sweetened condensed milk to the butter mixture, scraping down the sides as needed and continuing to mix until it is fully combined.
Step 9 -Stir the mini chocolate chips into the cookie dough mixture.
Step 10 -In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1/2 of the milk chocolate chips.
Step 11 -Spread the melted chocolate over the prepared baking tray, being careful not to make it too thin. It's okay if the whole surface area isn't covered.
Step 12 -Let the chocolate chill in the fridge until it is set, about 15-30 minutes.
Step 13 -Spread the cookie dough mixture over the hardened chocolate in an even layer.
Step 14 -Let the cookie dough set over the chocolate, about 15-30 minutes.
Step 15 -Melt the remaining milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.
Step 16 -Pour the melted chocolate over the cookie dough layer.
Step 17 -Allow the melted chocolate to harden.
Step 18 -Break the bark apart and serve.
