  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest, grated
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 12 (3/4-inch-thick) slices French bread
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange liqueur, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring

Directions

Step 1 -Place the butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 2 -Combine the sugar, the pecans, the orange zest, and the cinnamon in a bowl.

Step 3 -Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the butter.

Step 4 -Arrange the bread on top of the sugar mixture.

Step 5 -Spread the bread with the cream cheese.

Step 6 -In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, the orange juice, the orange liqueur, and the butter flavoring together.

Step 7 -Pour the egg mixture over the bread.

Step 8 -Cover the baking dish and refrigerate it for at least 8 hours and up to overnight.

Step 9 -Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 10 -Transfer the baking dish from the fridge 30 minutes before baking.
